Katarina Schmidt

Counselling Services

Kat has a passion for working from a person centred approach, meeting her clients where they are at as she believes her clients are the experts of their own lives. Kat obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary where she was able to work with many diverse individuals. She strives to create a non-judgmental and trauma-informed space where her clients are comfortable to share their life stories, struggles, or concerns. Kat is an eclectic practitioner, meaning she uses a variety of modalities when working with her clients to ensure a good fit in collaboratively meeting her client's needs and goals. Her practice is influenced by Attachment Theory, Anti-Oppressive Approaches, Intersectionality, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Kat has worked mostly with adults with various mental health, socioeconomic, addiction, relational, grief, and self-esteem concerns. She refers to herself as a life-long learner, walking alongside her clients throughout their healing journeys.
